We are the ACT chapter of the Pre-Vocational Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society (PVOGS) Australia and New Zealand. We were founded in 2017 with the aim of developing a sense of community and a portal of communication between medical students and junior doctors interested in obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G). As the ACT chapter, our goals are to promote and foster active interest in matters affecting the O&G field and its training pathway as well as, to enhance the educational opportunities given to medical students and junior doctors in the ACT. We also aim to promote PVOGS Australia and New Zealand and their activities and work cooperatively with other Australian and New Zealand chapters. Our society is a network representing the transition from a medical student to an O&G registrar, connecting pre-vocational doctors/students with RANZCOG. PVOGS Australia and New Zealand also provides a central communication point for all medical students and junior doctors to facilitate the foundation and continuation of university and state-based O&G interest groups.
